Maturity
Everyone makes mistakes, it’s a part of human life. You make mistakes and you feel guilty about the mistakes and you reap the consequences of those mistakes. But the main difference that really proves who you are, is what you do after those mistakes. Being mature means you admit you made those mistakes, you admit that you shouldn’t have done it and you learn from that mistake, than you change what you need to change to not make that mistake again.
I have seen so many younger kids who blame their parents, or hate themselves, or just keep making the mistakes over and over again, in constant denial that they even made the mistake. This is expected, they have not yet grown or matured enough own up to the mistake and realize the only thing they should be mad at is the action they did, learn from that action, and not do it again. Over time they will learn this, it’s a painful and ANNOYING process, but after you mature and grow up a little, it brings a lot less stress on you because you have a higher sense of realization of what to do and less energy/anger towards things that have nothing to do with that. You change what you can, you learn from what you did, and you move towards a better future.
I’m writing this because, over knowing a lot of kids and cousins and family members and fellow students I see this lack of maturity a lot, but just recently, I saw an extreme amount of maturity in Nootly and I just wanted to give her a shout-out and say I am extremely proud of the approach you are taking about this grounding and your mistakes. From the grades you posted and the way you approach this all, you are EXTREMELY smart. My brother was the same way, he never turned in his homework, was always failing his classes, he went and took the GED instead (never even studied for it) and passed with flying colors. I’m not saying this is what you should do, I am just saying I understand that feel of not wanting to do homework or it slipping your mind and the best thing you can do now is do you best to rectify what you can, learn for the future and move on with what you can’t change. Either way, I’m totally proud of you for taking responsibility for your actions, and I think you are such an intelligent, mature young woman who will probably be destined for greatness, and I hope you’re able to learn from these mistakes so that they don’t happen again hahaa.
